Ferrari Limited Edition Bicycle
Ferrari not only makes beautifully sculpted automobiles like the 599 GTO and the F450, but they also make beautifully sculpted racing bikes. Now, you’ve got to seriously love either the Ferrari name or bicycle racing in general to put down this much dough on a racing bike. Colnago and Ferrari have joined forces to create a limited edition Ferrari Di2 racing cycle. We are going to set the stage here a little before letting you know just how much this elegant machine costs.
The Di2 racing bike has a carbon fiber frame with Racing Speed XLR wheels and carbon fiber hubs. The frame is strengthened internally by the use of 3PRS technology and gear optimization is achieved by the Dura Ace Di2 electronic group. This group also keeps the chain tight and straightened eliminating possible mistakes. The limited edition Di2 also has high resistance ball bearings provided by Inox Cult technology. Ferrari will have your customized Di2 delivered to your home up to 60 days after the order has been placed.
Entry level racing bikes cost between $500-$800 with top of the line models running between $800 and $2000. If you enter the high end model line, that’ll cost you $2000-$6000. The limited edition (only 50 units will be produced) Ferrari Di2 is yours for the not-so-bargain price of $16,750. All we can say is we better win that race!

BMW M Bike
There aren’t a lot of automakers also making motorcycles. Honda, Suzuki, Peugeot, BMW… along with Triumph once upon a time and Yamaha dabbling in the automotive consultancy business. That just about covers it. But there are plenty churning out branded bicycles, and Bimmer’s M division is the latest.
The 28-pound cycle is based on a sleek aluminum frame, available in three sizes and coated in matte anthracite paint. It’s topped by a leather fi’zi:k saddle with a red inlay and fitted with a Manitou Match front suspension fork, Shimano SLX gear system – what, no dual-clutch transmission? – and disc brakes front and rear.
The BMW M Bike will only be made in limited quantities starting in June from select dealership and www.bmw-shop.com. Just don’t expect dealers to begin giving them away free with the purchase of a new X3 like Volkswagen did with Trek.

BERU F1 Systems Factor 001
Engineers at BERU f1systems in Norfolk, England, have created what they call the "world’s first bike designed and hand built by Formula one engineers." The incredibly expensive Factor 001 bicycle has a starting price of £22,000.
For that money, the customer gets a lightweight carbon monocoque frame completely customized to the owner’s physical measurements. The bicycle does not comply with many rules for competitive cycling, which gave designers the opportunity to create a machine that accelerates quickly with the highest level of stability. The look of the bike can also be designed to the customer’s wishes, with his or her name engraved on the handlebars.
"In designing and perfecting Factor 001 we chose not to be limited by any preconceptions surrounding traditional road bike design," said BERU exec John Bailey. "Each model takes six highly skilled engineers a week to make. With only a limited number of bikes due to be built, we expect Factor 001 to become a desirable collector’s item."
Built into the frame are "highly sophisticated load sensors, wiring, batteries, control cables and lines for its hydraulic braking system." With additional electronics, the bike collects data on ergonometrics, biometrics, physical forces, and environmental factors. Data is displayed on the included LCD touch screen, but can also be downloaded onto a computer for analysis.
The bike is on sale now with carbon ceramic brakes, and a Shimano Di2 gear shift. The version with added electronics will be sold for £27,000. Only several hundred units of the Factor 001 will be produced.
